Experience

This is my 17th year to teach in Lauderdale County.

My first teaching position was at Lexington School as a Kindergarten teacher for the 2000-2001 school year.  This was a very enjoyable first year teaching experience for me.

For the next 5 years (2001-2006), I was employed as the Elementary (K-6) In-School-Suspension teacher for the East End of Lauderdale County.  The East End schools are Anderson Junior High, Brooks Elementary, LCHS, Rogers School, and Lexington School.  Thanks for all the guidance and support from each school site.

From 2006-2009, I was employed and worked at Brooks High School (7-12) and Brooks Elementary School (K-6) as the In-School-Suspension teacher for both campus sites.  In 2008-2009, I had the opportunity to serve as Head Coach for the Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls Cross Country Teams.  I had the opportunity during these years to expand my experience horizons by working in grades 7-12, as well as grades (K-6), acquiring and gaining valuable knowledge and experience in both middle and high school settings.

From 2009-2013, I was employed as a 5th grade elementary teacher (both self-contained and departmentalized) at Lauderdale County High School.

From 2012-Present, I serve as the Head Coach for the LCHS Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls Cross Country Teams.

From 2013-Present, I am employed as the (K-12) Discipline Specialist for Lauderdale County High School.

Bio

GREETINGS TO ALL!!  My name is Auburn Wilson. This is my 17th year to teach and serve as an educator for the Lauderdale County School System.  I truly have enjoyed the opportunity to actively work at several school locations and to develop friendships with so many wonderful and dedicated supervisors, administrators, faculty, and staff members of the Lauderdale County School System.

My personal overall objective as an educator is to motivate, encourage, and empower ALL students to "BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE!!"

My educational goals are as follows: (1) Be a role model for students, (2) Enjoy a lengthy career as an educator, (3) Become a school administrator, and as always, (4) Encourage others to succeed in life that otherwise might not be inspired to do so!

I have been married to my "WONDERFUL" and "LOVING" wife Debbie for 36 years!  We have three children and their spouses; 6 present grand-children and hopefully more to come!!!!   We are so blessed!!

My hobbies that I enjoy the most are spending quality time with my family and spoiling our grand-children.  Additional hobbies include hunting fishing, boating, and traveling, as well as, coaching the sport of Cross Country and participating in other running events as time allows.
